The second round of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse (PSCS) took place this weekend from May 30th to June 1st at Paul Ricard, Le Castellet. The 5.842-kilometer-long track is one of the longer circuits in this year’s PSCS calendar. After a successful opening weekend for Felix at the Red Bull Ring, he managed to double down in the second round. After two promising test days, nothing stood in the way of a successful race day. Felix dominated both races of the PSCS and once again secured a double victory. Additionally, he achieved pole position and the fastest lap in each race, making it a double hat trick for the weekend.

Qualification Summary

The weather for this race weekend was perfect. In the qualifying session, Felix was able to execute his plan optimally, setting two fast lap times in as few laps as possible. This is important to maintain enough tire grip for the upcoming races on the same day. With a gap of 0.8 seconds to the second-placed driver in the starting grid, Felix secured double pole positions. It is well known that races are not won in qualifying, so Felix fully concentrated on the race to execute his strategy perfectly.

A Start-to-Finish Victory for the First Race

The 21 drivers of the PSCS started the first race at 11 a.m. in Le Castellet, Paul Ricard. Only at the start could the second-placed driver put Felix under a bit of pressure. However, Felix positioned himself optimally before the first corner to take the lead and maintain it for the rest of the race. With an impressive pace of 0.8 to 0.9 seconds fast then the field per lap, Felix built a lead of 15 seconds by the end. In the third lap, Felix secured the fastest lap of the race and then focused entirely on tire management. Thus, the first hat trick with pole position, fastest lap, and first place was complete.

With Adrenaline into the Second Race

After an almost perfect first race, the second race of the PSCS took place at 4 p.m. Felix had the chance to repeat the splendid result from the first race, extend his championship lead, and crown the day. The tire management from the first race paid off, and Felix was able to maintain consistent lap times. After the first corner, Felix maintained his lead and pulled away with impressive speed. The second race was conducted in a shorter time than the first, but Felix still managed to achieve a lead of 12 seconds. Like the first race, Felix secured the fastest lap in the fourth lap. The second hat trick of the day was complete.

A picture-perfect race weekend came to an end. The team’s performance and the precision in tuning the car by FACH Auto Tech were incredible, allowing Felix to deliver his best performance. Felix significantly extended his championship lead and is already training for the next round in Imola. The third round of the PSCS will take place from June 21st to 23rd.
