The season kickoff of the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse 2024 is approaching, and for Felix, this marks the beginning of his racing season. He will take to the track this weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria in his 992 GT3 Cup, competing in the GT3 Cup class. The field promises exciting competition with 21 vehicles, consisting of national and international drivers. Situated in the picturesque landscape of Styria, the Red Bull Ring is one of the most modern race tracks in Europe. With its 4.318 kilometers, the track offers a challenging mix of fast straights and technically demanding corners, pushing drivers to their limits. The breathtaking backdrop of the surrounding mountains makes the driving experience at the Red Bull Ring an unforgettable event for drivers and spectators alike.
On Thursday, April 25th, and Friday, April 26th, the official tests for the race weekend will take place. On these days, Felix will complete four test sessions each to familiarize himself with the track and the new 992 GT3 Cup. The weekend will then follow with the first racing action of the season on April 27th. Qualifying will already take place at 08:55 AM. In a 25-minute session, the 21 drivers will compete for their starting position. This will be followed by two races, each lasting 25 minutes plus 1 lap. The first race will start at 11:00 AM and the second race at 3:30 PM.
Together with the team from Fach Auto Tech, Felix has been preparing intensively for the 2024 season over the past few months and is eagerly looking forward to the first race: “The preparations have gone extremely well, and I was able to prepare myself for the first race in Spielberg very well in the simulator with the team FACH Auto Tech. It will be exciting because the last time I was in the car was in August 2023, so I will need to get back into the groove. Since the car is completely new, I’ll have to take it a bit slower anyway and gradually improve. I’m really looking forward to this process.”
This year, the Porsche Sports Cup Suisse will visit six renowned race tracks. In addition to the Red Bull Ring in Austria, the drivers will also make stops in Le Castellet in France, Imola in Italy, Portimao in Portugal, as well as Mugello and Misano in Italy. Each of these tracks presents its own challenges and promises thrilling races that will push the drivers to their limits.
