Successful guest start in the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland at the Nürburgring

Together with his partners Felix Hirsiger has managed a successful guest appearance in one of the most competitive national race series – the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. In collaboration with Sorg Rennsport GmbH, who were given the special opportunity to participate in the fourth round of the Carrera Cup Germany at the famous Nürburgring circuit in Germany, Felix took the wheel as their driver, joining 31 other accomplished drivers.

The Porsche Carrera Cup Germany, known for its prestigious brand and rich history, holds a significant place in the world of motorsport. Piloting the advanced Porsche 992 GT3 Cup with 510 horsepower, drivers compete across eight different racetracks during the season. Iconic tracks like Spa-Francorchamps, Zandvoort, and the legendary Nürburgring add to the excitement. A race weekend includes practice sessions, qualifying rounds, and two races.

For Felix Hirsiger, this weekend marked his debut in the new 992 GT3 Cup, where he quickly showed his talent during Friday’s qualifying. Securing the 20th position for the first race and the 18th for the second, Felix’s skill was evident. The high level of competition is highlighted by the fact that the top 20 drivers were within a second of each other.

In race 1 on a dry track on Saturday, Felix demonstrated his skill with overtakes, finishing 16th overall and an impressive 4th in the rookie classification. Race 2 on Sunday posed a new challenge with rainy conditions at the Nürburgring. Starting 17th, Felix navigated skillfully through incidents to secure 16th place overall. With this, Felix’s first appearance in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany concluded on a high note. Also, the team at Sorg Rennsport GmbH has done a magnificent job preparing the car for the challenges ahead. On Wednesday, they had to change the setup of the car from endurance racing to the specifications required by the Carrera Cup Germany in less than 24 hours.
